I am using the Microsoft and I have a bit of a problem when I use it. I strike the cursor anywhere and abruptly my word document becomes all of these ridiculous symbols – as well as at the conclusion of every "paragraph".
How do I change all of them away? It really affects my work and I need help.
Thank you

Problem with Microsoft word: Paragraph
Hi. It looks like you may have accidentally clicked on an icon to show all "nonprinting characters." This is Word's term for any formatting function but does not appear on the printed page: paragraph breaks, tabs, spaces and the like.
By default, there is a button with an icon that looks like this ¶. If you try and hover your mouse over it, the ScreenTip says "Show/Hide ¶"
When you click on this button, it will toggle between the display of all nonprinting characters and whatever specific nonprinting characters you have chosen to display as an alternative.
Further, you may have tried typing an asterisk, and have accidentally typed Ctrl+* (Ctrl+Shift+8) instead. This also displays all of the nonprinting characters. The same key combination will also toggle the display off.
Hope this helps!
Problem with Microsoft word: Paragraph
Hello Jeremy,
Sometimes MS word converts document into unicode for reasons that i am not 100% sure about. However, there is a workaround it. You can go to the File tab in MS word and then Save As Other Formats and then scroll down to Plain text. Once you have saved the file as text you can open it with Notepad and it should be able to show it correctly. You can alternatively try to upload it to Google Documents and see if it displays it correctly. It should work perfectly. Creating document in GDs has the benefit of navigating back to previous version of document that saves a lot of work.
I hope that was helpful.
Abe.
