Hello techyv,

A problem installation occur with Windows Vista wallpaper psd. I made a psd file edited from my photoshop cs5 software application. When trying to save the date and set it as a wallpaper desktop for my Windows Vista os it has an error occurred which says unable to open file. How can I resolve this problem?

Hi There,

The problem is that you are trying to set an incorrect photo/image file to be your desktop background. PSD are the native files for Adobe Photoshop. The layers, transparency, masks, clipping paths, layer styles, and shapes, etc. are still preserving in this kind of format. It is still complex and editable. You need to finalize it into a photo/image file.

Do these simple steps:

1.       Open Adobe Photoshop.

2.       Open your PSD file.

3.       Select Save As.

4.       Choose your file format (JPEG, BMP, PNG, GIF, and TIFF).

           *I prefer using JPEG*

5.        Then Save.

Now try to select the photo/image then set it as your desktop background.
