Good day everyone,

I previously had maplestory installed on my laptop.  I wanted to have this program again so I got a copy of its setup through MSE downloader.  My problem now is that every time I try to install it, I am prompted with this error message.

>SetupNewsetup.cpp (143)

PAPP:

PVENDOR:

PGUID:

$

@Windows Vista Service Pack 0 (7600)

IE Version: 9.0.8112.16421

By the way, my OS is Windows 7.  I wonder what the reason for this error is.  I did not encounter this when I had this program previously.

Please assist me on what to do.

Thank you very much!

Problem with the installation of Maplestory

Hi Jean,

I had encountered this kind of error before. I tried searching for a way to install it. Somehow I found a solution but I cannot recall where I found it. To make this work you need to these steps:

1.Launch the MapleStoryDownloader.exe as administrator.

2.Now it will ask you where would you like to save Maple Story. The default is that it will be save to where the launcher is located. Click next.

3.After the download is complete. It will run the setup automatically. Cancel the setup. Instead move MSSetup to your program directory. ie. C:Program Files. If you don’t cancel the setup, the program will be install to your profile directory which is C:”user”. Some game updates will not be able to locate the game directory and cause crashes.

4.Run the MSSetup as administrator and browse the location to C:Program Files.

Hope this will help solve your installation issue.
