Possible way for changing the postmaster account

Hi! I just need to ask if there’s a way for me to change the postmaster accounts when you’re using a hosted environment; this has been concerning me for quite a while now.

You see, if a user sends a mail and then get a NDR, the Postmaster account will be generated from the master domain so that would have to be ABC.com and the hosted domain would be XYZ.com. I was wondering if there’s a way for the XYZ.com generate on its own.

I hope you can help me.

Thank you.

Hi,

Aileen_Griego

Yes it is possible that you can change the reply domain from ABC.com to XYZ.com.

But remember the procedure mentioned below will make changes in reply only, and not on non delivery notifications etc.

As administrator, Open the Active Directory Users

Now open Computers MMC.

Navigate to and expand the Users container

Double-click the Administrator account.

Now select and click the E-mail Addresses tab.

Select the [email protected], and then click Remove.

On the confirmation popup click OK.

In the properties dialog box, click OK.

Navigate to the XYZ.COM account and click on it.

Select the E-mail Addresses tab.

Now Click New, click SMTP Address, and then click OK.

Type [email protected] (where domain.com is your e-mail domain).

Click OK to add the e-mail address
