Hi! I am only asking since I feel the need to approve a few updates in WSUS but have little knowledge on how to approve patches in WSUS. Can someone guide me through the procedure? Thank you.

Well, approving and declining updates is an essential process. This is simple guide on how to approve patches in WSUS. With minor changes, you can decline the patches through this method too.

First and foremost, open the WSUS console and select “Updates” from the left panel.

Here, you can find a specific update from the variety of categories shown. Spot the patch you want to approve, right-click on it and select “Approve.” In case you wish to decline the update, hit “Decline”.

There! You have approved a patch in WSUS.
