Planning on Fortran Development, Any Advice?

In my country, I noticed that Fortran, a rare yet high paying programming language is in demand nowadays. I have small Java background and a bit of Python knowledge. I would like to try out Fortran any time soon so what would you suggest I do to help me learn and understand Fortran? Should I use Fortran as my main development tool?

You can use Fortran as your main development tools for yourprogramming. Before doing this you must have to got a clear idea about fortran. I understand that, also you are so interested to learn about fortran.  

Actually fortran is a programming language with general-purpose, procedural, imperative programming language. It is specially built for numaric and scientific computing perposes.
