Paint not showing recent pictures anymore

I am having problems with the program which is Paint. When trying to hover it on the start menu, I cannot see the recent pictures. If I try to open it, the recent files will show up but when clicking the drop-down menu, other programs will show up that normally comes with screenshot.

I know that this is not a big thing but I am really annoyed that I can no longer see my recent files. Is this normal or is there something wrong with Paint? I need ideas, Thanks.

Paint not showing recent pictures anymore

So you are talking about My Recent Documents which is found on the Start menu. This part is affected generally by the files you are accessing and opening in Windows.

This is automatically updated by Windows depending on the files you are opening. If you previously opened some pictures or images using Microsoft Paint, those files that you opened will appear on My Recent Documents.

If after that you opened several text files and documents using either Microsoft Notepad or Microsoft Word, it will also be displayed on My Recent Documents above the image files you previously opened.

The most recent file you opened will appear on top of the list and the rest of the recently accessed files will go down until some of them will no longer be visible on the list.

Maybe this is what’s confusing you. This is not a problem. This is how Windows handle the files. You can still open the image files by manually opening them directly through Microsoft Paint.
