Outlook not working after installation of Windows 8

I installed Windows 8 on my PC and restarted it to discover that now Outlook has started giving me trouble. I can receive emails, but when I try sending one, Outlook stops working and shuts itself down. I tried to reboot the computer but that didn't work. What can be done about it? Should I switch back to the previous version of Windows that was working fine on my PC?

You can try to uninstall outlook and reinstall it. Then check and validate your email settings.Once connected and having no problem for a couple of hours, configure your .pst file.
 
Outlook 2007, Outlook 2010 & Outlook 2013 are officially supported on Windows 8. I hope that you are not using Outlook 2003 or older version.
