Windows 8 hangs completely when displaying logo

Hi,

I have installed Windows 8 on my Samsung mini laptop but on start up the OS cannot load past the logo. When the Windows logo appears the laptop freezes and it hangs completely. It doesn’t show a black screen and it doesn’t continue to boot. If I restart it same thing happens. Any suggestions?

Hello Margaret M Griggs

You didn't mention your laptop Model. Your laptop might be not meeting the minimum system requirements to run windows 8. Or there maybe issues with installation. Here is the minimum system requirements of windows 8.

• Ram – minimum 1 GB
• Processor – 1GHz or faster.
• Hard Disk Space – 16 GB for 32-bit version and 20 GB for 64-bit.
• Graphics card – Microsoft DirectX 9 with WDDM driver.

If your laptop don't run even after your laptop meets the requirements, check your CD if there is any problem. If possible try new Disk.

Windows 8 hangs completely when displaying logo

If you are sure that your laptop meets the minimum requirement of windows 8. And you didn’t have any issues when you installed the operating system. Have you tried opening the safe mode? You can do that or you can also open the back plane of the laptop and clean the RAM’s.
