Hello,

There are different Linux distributions, managed by different developer teams. Each of them have unique features as well as other uniqueness.

Ubuntu, by far, the most popular Linux distribution for everyone. It’s based on Debian, and super-fast and most of the softwares for Linux is available for this platform.

Fedora is another Linux distribution. It comes with 64-bit edition only, but superbly cool for its crystal UI and stability. It crashes less than any other OS and if you don’t mess up with things so much, it isn’t going to crash at all.

There are also other Linux distributions, for example, Linux Mint, OpenSUSE, Gentoo etc. You can try them as they’re free.
