Dear Support,

We have a server, it's running with win 2008 r2 server and it is in a Workgroup. We have installed printers on this machine, but duplicate printers are occupied. I am training to delete these printers with administrative privileges, getting error as access is denied. And also printers going to offline, when printer spooler is restarted. Printer spooler also stopped automatically.

Kindly help on this issue.

Regards,

Narasimha Reddy.

Wassup Narasimha, I believe I can be able to help you in that query. The main cause of the query may be with the spooler service. What you need to do to solve it is;

Go to 'Print and document' services and install,

Open the server manager from control panel and extend the roles.

In the right pane you will be able to delete the port.

Print and document services and install

You may also try to delete any registry keys that might exist in the registry.

Open the Registry Editor and navigate to the following key:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESYSTEMCurrentControlSetControlPrintPrinters

When you try to share the printer you might get the following error:

Windows could not share your printer. Operation could not be completed (Error 0x000006D9)

Operation could not be completed (Error 0x000006D9)

This problem is related to integrated Windows 2008 R2 firewall. To be able to install and share printers on the Windows Server 2008 R2 you have to enable the Windows Firewall.

This should solve your query.

Thanks.
