Office server, can’t view workstations

Hello,

I setup office server, to manage 10 computers (workstations). My company hired 5 new employees and I had to setup their computers on our network.

Set up was very easy and quick as usual. But when I was done, the other computer users, and even the new ones were complaining about not being able to access the DEFOPT (name of our server) folder, to get what they needed.

Any one got some help?

Thanks.

Office server, can’t view workstations

Hi,

You need to ensure that you have configured the DHCP pool, on the server, to accommodate many workstations as per your employees.

You need to ensure the domain is created and the workstations are made to join the domain.  This can be done either on the client side, by adding it over the workgroup or by the workstation names on the server

You need to check the DNS entries.

You need to ensure whether inter vlan is configured on the network or not. This would be important, to check if the server and the workstations are on a different vlan.

Kindly let me know if any more information is required.
