One of my friends has been receiving this software error, again and again.

Actually, in IBM Lotus Notes, when you activate a specific option, a single Pop-up appears on the screen when you receive a single or numerous new emails. But she is receiving 2 pop-ups when she opens the Lotus Notes; further 3 pop-ups when she opens the Mail section (screen image attached for review), and continues to receive pop-ups without receiving any new email/emails., even the specific function is off.

A possible answer to your question is that your friend has received so called "e-mail bomb". This is a type of infectious computer virus/worm. It has the ability to replicate itself whenever it is opened or activated. I suggest that your friend updates his/her anti-virus software or anti-spyware program to either delete the said virus/malware/worm or at most quarantine it so that it would not occur again.
