Did you make any changes to your computer recently? Because if so the changes could have had an adverse effect on the Norton Antivirus files. To resolve the issue you will need to try the following:

• First of all you will need to try restoring your system to a period in time before you started getting that issue. To access system restore, do the following:

  • On your computer, go to Start and then All Programs and then Accessories and then System Tools program group.

  • You will need to click on the System Restore program icon.

  • After that click Next > on the Restore system files and settings window.

  • And the select the restore point that you want to use.

  • Follow the steps after that until the process finishes.

• If the error still persists, you will need to perform a reinstallation of the antivirus.

That error on your computer from the Norton Antivirus program seems to be caused by corrupt files. The best solution for that is to simply reinstall Norton Antivirus. That should fix the problem. If you still have the installer, you need to uninstall Norton Antivirus first and then run the installer to reinstall the program.

You should be prompted to restart your computer during the uninstalling of the program, just restart the machine. If you no longer have the installer, you can download the program from the Symantec website or better yet upgrade to the latest Norton Security Deluxe. There is no more Norton Antivirus.

Symantec merged the two programs, Norton Antivirus and Norton Internet Security, into one resulting in the development of Norton Security Deluxe. This is now the combination of an antivirus and an internet security program all rolled into one great application.
