I am stuck with downloading the speech language on my Nokia Lumia. I am trying to change it to my preferred language and then it started downloading. But its almost 6 hours after the download begins and it is still in downloading process. If I short or long pressed on it, it doesn't show anything. If I tried to download another language, it says, I am downloading another language and I need to wait till it finish downloading. How I can get out of this?
Nokia Lumia Stuck in Downloading Speech Language
First of all, when downloading the language pack, you need to ensure that you are doing it through WiFi.
The downloading process will stop once there is an interruption with your internet connection.
And another trick is to download any application that will initiate your Nokia Lumia to update itself.
Try downloading a keyboard or similar to it. Once the update started, it will also update the speech option in your phone.
This will surely fix your problem without needing to perform a soft or hard reset.
And also, your Lumia will notify you if there is an update available. Just go to your Settings and then tap the Phone Update option. Then, enable the "Notify me when new updates are found". Or you can also use the data connection to check for updates.
Check if the updates are available to your phone and perform the following:
1. Download the Zune Software if you're on Windows and Windows Phone app if you're on Mac.
2. Once downloaded and installed, you can now connect your phone to your computer with a USB cable.
3. Launch the Zune software or the Windows Phone App and follow the on-screen instructions.
