I read a headline saying that AMD launched a new Graphics Card just a few days ago. I want to know more about this GPU. Is it comparable to Nvidia GPUs in terms of performance? When will it be available for buying, and is it worth buying one?
Well, AMD has announced two new GPUs, not one. At AMD’s E3 conference, it announced the new AMD RX5700 and the AMD Radeon RX5700 XT graphics cards. These graphics cards were much anticipated by both, AMD fanboys and the PC enthusiast community. This is because the two cards are based on AMD’s new Navi Architecture. However, even with the new architecture, these cards will not compete in the high-end GPU market.
If you want to compare it with a similar performance AMD GPU, you will be looking at the Nvidia GeForce RTX2060 and the RTX2070. The company slides during the launch claimed that the RX5700 XT was faster than the RTX 2070, however, it is difficult to comment on performance as no cards have been sold as of now.
The Radeon RX5700 and the Radeon RX5700 XT will be available for buying from July 7th. The RX5700 XT will retail at $450 and the RX5700 at $380. If you are planning to buy one, I would suggest waiting for some more time so that independent performance numbers and reviews can come up.
