Network connection speed limiter, need help with this one

Hi guys, I have my brother with me sharing our internet connection. He often use the internet to watch video from YouTube.

I want him to limit watching from YouTube by slowing down net speed.

I need a network connection speed limiter. Where can I get this software?

or What do I do to limit connection?

Good day!

It's good that you have posted your concern on this site. Regarding limiting the connection speed you can try to follow these steps:

First go to Start and Run> then type "gpedit.msc"> press on "Enter."(Group Policy page will open).>Then go to Computer Configuration>Administrative Templates>Network>then>QOS Package Scheduler You can now limit outstanding packets or reservable bandwidth>just right click on the options to edit or make changes. If this won't work you can download a speed limiter software.

Network connection speed limiter, need help with this one

Hi James Yorath,

 

To limit the speed of a particular computer in your network, You can use a router that has QoS (Quality of Service) capabilities. Routers sold these days are usually capable of this.

 

To name one, the Linksys E4200 is capable of limiting internet speed to a specific device connected to it.

 

With this router, You can specify how much speed he will get or You can set his speed priority within the network.
