Hi ,
In Microsoft Windows, there are certain reasons why an application will not uninstall even if you use the built-in uninstaller of the program or using the Add or Remove Programs in the Control Panel. One possible reason why a program will not uninstall is if the application is incomplete. This can happen if the program failed to install completely and aborted prematurely.
In this case, try installing the program again. If you still have the installer, simply run the installer to completely install the application and overwrite the files already on the installation folder. Once installed, you can now uninstall it and it should work this time because the program is now complete. In case you no longer have its installer, just download a much newer version of the program and install it on your computer.
It will overwrite the existing files on your hard drive. Another possible reason why a program will not uninstall is if you are not using an administrator account. If your user account doesn’t have administrative privileges then you will not be able to uninstall or even install a program on your computer. Only administrators are allowed to do that.
If you are sure you are using an administrator account and yet you are unable to uninstall some programs, try doing it in Safe Mode. Restart your computer then press F8 before the Windows logo appears. In the Advanced Options Menu, select Safe Mode then hit Enter twice to boot in Safe Mode. In Safe Mode, click Start, Control Panel, and then Add or Remove Programs. Select the program from the list then click Uninstall or Remove.
If Add or Remove Programs failed, try uninstalling the program using its own uninstaller. When you are done with all the programs, just restart your computer normally to go back to normal mode.
