Hello!

I am planning to buy an external hard drive because my PC is full of pictures and it is eating up my memory. I want something that is not so expensive but has a good performance. My friend suggests to try a Seagate brand but I want to be sure that it will worth my expense and has value for money. Can someone give me a Seagate sata3 2tb review?

Hi Oliviarwilkes,

Seagate Barracuda 2TB drive is the first of its kind to support SATA 6GB standard, infact it is the only one in the market that has that feature. Let me list down other reviews with the HDD:

  • This has 4 platters with 64 MB of cache running in a 7200 RPM makes this a powerhouse HDD.
  • This is for the hardcore gamers and video editing junkies with the size of the drive.
  • It is about 1.5 pounds in weight, with connections same as those of SATA 3GB and backward.
  • This drive is also backward compatible.
  • Drive runs very quietly however with the capacity it can run hot in time.

Hope this can help you.

Hi Oliviarwilkes,

The Seagate Sata 3 2TB is good one with a reasonable price. I can summarize its important features in to :

  1. 64 Megabytes cache that's a good cache for it gives it a fair read and write speed about 36 Megabytes per second.
  2. 7200 RPM ( Round per Minute ) and that's pretty low so don't expect much of speed.
  3. The massive 2 or 3 terabytes storage will of course help you fixing the space issue for a long time.
  4. Reasonable price about 42 Sterling pound and a five years warranty.
  5. Read more here 3TB and 2TB • 64MB cache • SATA 6Gb/s.
