My printer will not print despite me restarting the print service

I have a desktop printer that refuses to print, I have made several attempts to restart the computer and even the print service but still will not print. How make the printer to print? the printer displays in the device manager so its not a connection problem, is there any setting to that effect that can make a printer not to print?

 Hi Gonzalo!

 Options for you may be: Go to Start, select Devices and Printers, hover over with your mouse to the printer and right click. Then, select See What's Printing or properties, clear all spooled pending print jobs if there are. Go back to the printer properties, go to tab Ports, select USB. This is to initiate the connection between the two machines. Now exit by clicking on OK and try printing a test page.
