My Moto G has turned into just paperweight!

Asked By 20 points N/A Posted on -

I was rooting my Moto G device and when I tried to put in the latest OS but then suddenly it was switched off and is not turning back on! Is it due to some kind of inconsistency between the boot-loader and the type of OS I used? How can I get back my phone and if possible without losing any data.

The Motorola Moto G handset runs on Android 4.3 Jelly Bean and can be upgraded to version 4.4.4 KitKat and is also being planned to be upgraded to Android 5.0 Lollipop, the latest Android version. Since your handset is running on Android, you should be able to root it like with any other phones.

If this is your first time to root a phone, you probably want to visit How To Root Android Phone to know more information about rooting and to know the proper procedure. Cellular service providers and phone manufacturers discourage users from rooting their devices. Jailbreaking is for iOS devices and rooting for Android.

Actually, rooting your Android phone can be extremely dangerous. But even if this is the case, if you are a careful user, the danger is minimal and the possible benefits are remarkable. There are devices that can be rooted for only several minutes and there are others that require researching.

In your case, if you tried rooting your Motorola Moto G and installed TWRP recovery, then your OTA update to the latest Android 4.4.4 KitKat must have failed. Your phone is probably in an infinite boot loop after accepting the latest Android system update. To possibly fix the problem on your phone, visit Motorola Moto G Recover From Failed Update.
