Hello experts,

I have my HP Pavilion laptop and it is DV6000 with Windows XP sp2 64. The problem is it was automatically shut down while everything was working fine. On startup it continued to boot but didn’t boot, and it should keep starting but never booting. My last action was installing a silverlight, watching a Netflix movie and closing down. Please help.

Hi,

There doesn’t always needs to be a problem with the software to encounter such errors. Sometimes it can be a hardware malfunction. In your case it can be a Hard disk malfunction.

Still the best way to fix the problem would be to reinstall the windows and try again!

If the problem still persists get your PC checked for hardware problems.

Hope you got your answer! 🙂

If your computer suddenly shut down while using it then now it is locked in boot loop, try starting the computer using the last known good configuration option. Start or restart your computer then press F8 before the Windows logo appears. In “Advanced Boot Options” screen, scroll down and select “Last known good configuration” then hit Enter to boot.

With this option selected, your machine will boot using the last known good setting that worked. If this doesn’t work, try using the System File Checker utility in Safe Mode. Start or restart your computer then press F8 before the Windows logo appears. In “Advanced Boot Options” screen, scroll down and select “Safe Mode” then hit Enter. Log in with an administrator account.

Once you are logged in in Safe Mode, press the Windows key + R to bring up the “Run” dialog then type without quotes “sfc /scannow” then hit Enter. Insert your Windows setup CD or DVD on your optical drive when you are prompted then continue. Wait until the process is complete. When it is finished, restart the computer then boot normally or in normal mode.
