My IE and Firefox settings overrun each other

I discovered recently that my Firefox startup page emulates that of IE. For example, if I set my IE homepage to be Google.com and then set my Firefox homepage to something like cnn.com, whenever I open Firefox, the homepage will have changed to Google.com. I have tried with several homepages and the trend appears. Anyone getting a similar problem? How can I get rid of this since I have tried even reinstalling Firefox to no effect?

I’ve also used Mozilla Firefox before but this issue never happened to any of my browsers. Often, I have 2 or more web browsers besides Microsoft Internet Explorer. But they never shared the same home page. If this annoys you, uninstall Mozilla Firefox. Then using your Microsoft Internet Explorer, visit Mozilla Firefox Free Download then download the latest version.

Run the installer to install Mozilla Firefox. Once installed, start Mozilla Firefox then check if it still uses the same homepage with Microsoft Internet Explorer. Normally, it should display its default homepage. But in case the problem continues and it still uses the homepage used in Microsoft Internet Explorer, try showing a blank page instead of showing the homepage.

Restart Mozilla Firefox then check if a blank page is displayed. If this is successful, change the homepage setting again and enter your desired homepage for the browser then restart Mozilla Firefox.
