My appstore doesn’t download updates, how to fix?

I have MacBook Pro and it is working fine. It doesn't lag, it runs all applications but the appstore on the book doesn't download any updates. I have updated to Yosemite two days ago and I'm facing this problem from the past 48 hours. Is there a way to fix this problem without downgrading my OS?

I don’t think it is the app store that should be downloading the update. To update your Mac OS X, click on the Apple menu then select Software Update. It will then check for any available updates for your operating system. Once it is finished, it will show you or it will display all the available updates you can install.

Install all the updates then restart your computer. Another way of updating your system is by downloading all updates for your operating system to your hard drive and then installing them individually. It’s just like installing an application to your computer. Visit Apple Support Software Updates and Downloads to check all the available updates.

Download all updates applicable to your computer and then install them. Since you are using Mac OS X 10.10 Yosemite, the updates applicable to you are:

  • Canon Printer Drivers v3.2 for OS X – if you have a Canon printer
  • Epson Printer Drivers v3.0 for OS X – if you have an Epson printer
  • Lexmark Printer Driver 3.0 – if you have a Lexmark printer
  • iTunes 12.1
  • OS X Yosemite 10.10.2 Combo Update
  • OS X Yosemite 10.10.2 Update
