MSIMG32.dll not found in Firefox

When I’m opening Mozilla Firefox, the error message MSIMG32.dll not found always pops-up. No matter what I do I can’t connect to the internet. What to do?

MSIMG32.dll not found in Firefox

Dear Gregory Swisher, I have read your query.

The reason you encountered this problem is because you removed Msimg32.dll accidentally or it was corrupted. It may be even because of a registry error, virus or malware, or because of hardware problem.

To fix this problem:

• Search Recycle Bin to determine if you accidentally deleted Msimg32.dll. If so, then restore it to System32 folder.
• Scan your PC for virus or malware to determine if this is because of some irregularity.
• Restoring your system to a previous setting, when you were not encountering this problem is also a good idea.
• Try reinstalling Firefox; it may also rectify this problem.
• Make sure you have updated device drivers installed on your machine. Outdated drivers can also cause this problem.
• Sometimes it may be because of a driver update. If you updated your device drivers recently, this could be the reason. Roll back to previous version.
• Make sure you have updated Windows. Sometimes updating Windows may replace/reinstall msimg32.dll.
• Try repairing your Installation of Windows.
• Sometimes repairing registry entries with the help of some third party tool can also rectify this problem.

Download this tool for fixing the missing msimg32.dll

Run downloaded file (if you receive error when opening, copy this file to new folder – for example C:TEST) and wait for installation to complete. After installation, Fixer tool will start automatically. When it’s done, restart your computer.

MSIMG32.dll not found in Firefox

The msimg32.dll file is part of Microsoft Windows and you should have it even without installing Mozilla Firefox. It is also replaced when you upgrade the Service Pack of your Microsoft Windows. To verify if the file is not missing from your computer, you can find msimg32.dll in “C:WINDOWSsystem32”. If you still have your installer of Mozilla Firefox, try reinstalling the browser.

Click Start, Control Panel, and then Add or Remove Programs. Select Mozilla Firefox then click Uninstall or Remove. After that, click Start, All Programs, Accessories, System Tools, and then Disk Cleanup. Select drive C then click OK. Check “Temporary files” and Setup Log Files, click OK then select Delete Files. Restart your computer then install Mozilla Firefox back using your installer.

If you haven’t updated your browser to the latest version, visit Firefox Free Download. Download the latest version and then update your existing version. If this doesn’t fix the problem, visit Solve msimg32.dll Problems and download an appropriate version for your computer. Select Manual Fix to download only the ZIP file. Once downloaded, unpack the ZIP file and copy msimg32.dll to “C:WINDOWSsystem32”. Start Mozilla Firefox and see if it works.
