Hi!

I have got an error on a subsequent installation of Microsoft Office Web Apps in SharePoint 2010 server, As soon as displaying a word (*.docx) file

Error:

An unexpected error has occurred.

Troubleshoot issues with Microsoft SharePoint Foundation.

MS Office Web Apps Error in SharePoint 2010 Server

The error you received is unhelpful at all because the detailed error messages are by default turned off in Sharepoint. In order to show the full error messages, please follow these steps:

 

–          Open the web.config file of the application you need to enable detailed messages for it

 

–          Find the following entry:

 

<SafeModeMaxControls=“200“CallStack=“false“DirectFileDependencies=“10“TotalFileDependencies=“50“AllowPageLevelTrace=“false“>

 

–          Change it to:

 

<SafeModeMaxControls=“200“CallStack=“true“DirectFileDependencies=“10“TotalFileDependencies=“50“AllowPageLevelTrace=“true“>

 

–          Also find the entry:

 

<customErrorsmode=“On“/>

 

–          Change it to:

 

<customErrorsmode=“Off“/>

 

–          Now, save and close the web.config file and here you are the detailed error messages are now enabled.
