I am running Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit, Intel Core i5-2320 CPU @ 3.00GHz with an updated Kaspersky Internet Security.

I tried installing Kaspersky Internet Security 2012 but got this error message "mouse click failed" I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling the program, updating .net framework and disk cleanup still had the same problem.

How can I fix this?

Hello  Sherry

You are using an old version of Kaspersky antivirus along with windows home premium.

Firstly home premium is not fully functional for this  program. Try to install the setup as administrator.

Right click on the set up file then click run as administrator.

It should work.

If it's still not working then uninstall the application and install the latest version.

Now install the setup as administration.

That error is not associated with your antivirus or with the updating of your antivirus. That message seems to be related to your mouse. Try to uninstall and reinstall your mouse. Click “Start” then right-click “Computer” and select “Manage”. In “Computer Management” window, select “Device Manager” on the left pane. On the right, expand “Mice and other pointing devices” then right-click your mouse or “HID-compliant mouse” and select “Uninstall”.

Wait until the device is uninstalled. After this, press ALT + F4 to close all windows. Next, press the Windows key + R to bring up the “Run” dialog then type without quotes “cmd” then hit Enter. In the command prompt window, type without quotes “shutdown /r” then hit Enter. This will restart the computer. Before logging in back to your account, disconnect your mouse.

After booting, plug your mouse back to install the driver. Before installing a new version of your antivirus or any antivirus, uninstall your existing antivirus program. Download the free version of Revo Uninstaller and install it. Once installed, start Revo then select your antivirus among the applications and click “Uninstall”. Follow the normal uninstall process. When you are prompted to restart the computer, click to restart later.

When uninstall is complete, click “Scan” to scan your computer for any leftover files and delete everything it finds. This removes everything the program created on your computer. When it is finished, close Revo then restart the computer. After booting, install the new antivirus program and update it after the installation.
