Hi,

HTTP file sharing allows you to transmit (send and receive) files over the web/internet or a computer network. It allows you to share even web components and WebPages. HTTP, also known as the Hyper Text Transfer Protocol, is the standard application that allows us to upload, download and practically exchange information on the web. It can also be used to share saved files on your computer to another device. One way to share files is to create a home group; this can be done wirelessly or through a LAN cable. It connects 2 or more computers and allows them to share whichever files or folders you decide to make ‘public’.

Instead of using the usual HTTP file sharing, it would be better to try HTTP File Server or HFS. It is another way of doing file sharing and it is different from the typical file sharing because it uses web technology which is more compatible with nowadays’ internet. It’s also different from the usual web servers because it runs directly out-of-the-box and is very easy to use.

It gives you easy access to your remote files over the network and has already been successfully tested using Wine in Linux. It works on all 32-bit versions of Microsoft Windows as well as Linux using Wine. It features functions like download and upload, virtual file system, extremely customizable, HTML template, bandwidth control, offers easy and expert modes, create log, ability to have full control over connections, accounts, and dynamic DNS updater.

To download HFS, visit HFS – HTTP File Server | Download. HFS is only a single executable file that doesn’t need to be installed. Just double click it after downloading the file to run it and you’re good to go. The latest version is 2.2f.
