Monitor flashes blue and white colors when I switch on my laptop

Hi there,

When I switch on my laptop, the monitor flashes and displays nothing else apart from the colors blue and white. The laptop is a Samsung R40. I have tried connecting the laptop to an external monitor and it seems there is no problem. Can someone help me here? Could the problem be the source of the monitor or what?

Hi Jasika!

Have you tried switching back to your laptop display when using the external monitor? Right-click on your desktop and go to "Screen Resolution". There you can change your display. If the laptop can detect the Mobile PC Display, switch to it.

If the blue and white screen still appears, then it is best if you have the laptop screen repaired. It is possible that the screen is damaged.

If it can't detect the display, have it repaired. The screen connector to the motherboard may be loose or damaged.

Jasika, 

The problem which you are facing is from your LCD chip. The LCD driving Chip of your laptop, which is set inside your motherboard is not working properly. It may be partially damaged. You should give your laptop to the service center and get it completely serviced. Its not a screen resolution problem, because if it was a screen resolution problem, then when you are connecting it to an external monitor, then also the problem should persist.
