One good way to save a phone that has fallen in the water is to immediately turn it off and try to open it and take out the battery and mop up all visible signs of water. Next follows the following steps below:

Step 1: Then you will need to get an air tight container, a plastic bag or a glass jar and fill it up with rice.

Step 2: Put the phone inside the air tight container with the rice, and store the container in an air cool place like a cupboard for example.

Step 3: Leave the phone in the container for a day at least.

The rice would help to drain out water from inside the phone. This works well for Apple iPhone and should work well also for any other phone or electronic hardware similar to a phone.
