Missing required parameter from for event open

I have a MAC OS X Snow leopard on which I have Adobe InDesign installed on. Whenever I try to open any file, I get an error message.

Missing required parameter from for event open

I click on OK and then try but again it comes back with the same error. It does not show me which parameter is missing. All the other files do not have any issues. Is this because I upgraded recently to OS 10.6?

Does anyone else have the same issue?

Almost all users of Snow Leopard has the same problem or has experienced this before. Try replacing the # symbol in the file name by some other character or delete it in the filename as well as in the directories or folders of your file then try to open the file again.

Another thing that you can do is to copy the contents of that file and create a whole new file with other file name. Try using a file name which consists of all small letters and no spaces. Then close the program and try opening the file again.

You can also try to avoid opening a file directly or using the double click. Instead, open InDesign then on the File menu, choose Open, and navigate to the file you want to open.
