Microstation Powerdraft crashes when opening a file

Hi,

I encounter a crash whenever I try to open a file on Microstation V8i and an error pop up appears informing that Microstation has stopped working and it would notify me if a solution is found. I tried the following steps to fix this issue: I checked the location path of the folder dwgdata, pointed to by the variable MS_DWGDATA. Here I searched for the file MstnShxFileList.csv andon finding this file, I renamed it to MstnShxFileList.bak. Now I try launching Microstation only to find this error still refusing to go away. Now what else could be causing the problem if it is not due to a corrupt MstnShxFileList.csv file? Any thoughts on this issue anybody? Please share. Thanking you for all the ideas.

Microstation Powerdraft crashes when opening a file

Hello friend,

This is such an error that happens when a file named “MstnShxFileList.csv” becomes corrupted while on a Network Share may cause MicroStation to crash after starting immediately.

In order to fix this issue,

1. Search for the file “MstnShxFileList.csv”.

2. Once found, either remove the file from the path or rename with name such as “MstnShxFileList.bak”.

3. Start MicroStation.

If you don’t find out the path of the file, you can take the help of this MSDEBUG.
