Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library Runtime Error! MATLAB

Hello,

I have been running MATLAB on Windows XP SP 2. After several weeks of not using MATLAB, I found my MATLAB does not start up any more. When I double-click MATLAB icon, I got the following error window pop up on my screen:

The error reads as:

Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library

Runtime Error!

Program: C:MATLAB7binwin32MATLAB.exe

 

This application has requested the Runtime to terminate it in an unusual way. Please contact the application's support team for more information. I don't know what causes this problem. Maybe some software I installed or MS Windows updates. I even tried re-installing MATLAB, but it produces same result.

Any advice is most welcome.

Hi Brian,

The main cause of this error is the java software that is outdated.

The best solution to your query therefore is to update the latest or most recent java runtime using the following procedure;

• Go to Start->My Computer->C:Program FilesJava

 

• Copy a folder known as JreX into that file
• Install the latest instance of Java

        

• Go to Start->My Computer->local disk F: and open F:MATLAB7 sysjavajrewin32. or a similar folder in local disk C: where the software 'MATLAB' has been installed.
• Paste the folder into a folder known as 'jre1.4.2. It is usually a similar folder to a different name, and the new folder you create can be given the old name or a different name.

You may also uninstall the software and reinstall.

Have you make some changes to your computer since the last use of the program if so then you can configure a restore point on your computer and you will be able to get all the things back as they were before.
