Microsoft Office 2007 shows “preparing to install” message

I have installed Microsoft Office 2007 in my computer. There is problem opening MS word.  It pops up a window box with a message like “preparing to install” whenever I try to open it. But after some time it pops up another message said “cannot find the path”. Is there any solution?

 Dear Aldrin,

Please find the cause and the fix for the issue.

Cause:The error message basically appears when ore than version of the MS Word is installed on the system.
Resolution:

It is to be borne in mind that the below mentioned steps are to be executed with utmost care as any incorrect alteration to the Registry can be lethal to the operating system. Hence it is recommended to take a backup of the registry before performing these changes. In case the problem occurs the registry can always be restored from the kept backup.

Steps :

1. Click on Start > Run and type Regedit in the run box and hit Enter key on the keyboard.

Click on the plus sign next to HKEY_CURRENT_USER to expand the same. Click on the plus sign next to Software to expand the same. Click on the plus sign next to Microsoft to expand the same. Click on the plus sign next to Office to expand the same. Click on the plus sign next to 12.0 to expand the same, Click on the plus sign next to Word to expand the same, Click Options. After selecting Options, click DWORD Value by place the mouse cursor on New on the Edit menu. Hit the Enter key on the keyboard after typing No ReReg. Click on Modify after right clicking on No ReReg. Type1 in the value data box and hit ok. Close the registry editor and restart the computer.

Hello aldrin

There are many ways to solve this method , I can say that confidently cause i experienced this same issue before when i was on my OLD pc. I searched and re-searched a lot found many solutions (tones of them) 

But none of them worked perfectly , either i receive some error or even my whole PC crashed,when i edited my registry .
So its better to do just one small and easy thing just re-install your MS-office once. I hope you have the CD for MS office installation, or purchase it from the Microsoft website if you don't have it.

The problem might be some file missing issues so its trying to install again or repair it. Just re-install it 🙂
