I have bought a new system with the configuration of 2.5 G, Gforce 4, 512 RAM, OS is Windows XP and regularly paying the game ‘Antz’ DVD in Windows Media Player. But recently I am not able to play the game. After inserting the DVD, an error comes up. ‘Media Line is not able to play’ and shows some numbers.

I have confirmed the Windows Player is set p to read DVD. I have also searched in websites with the error code, but nothing found. Please give me a solution to fix the problem.

Thanks in advance.

Hi Waema,

In certain instances, the cause of the issue might either be the hardware or the software . In this case, it's best to find out if other DVDs can still be played on the drive. It could also be necessary to test the game DVD to a known good  optical disc.

If the DVD cannot  be played on either optical disc, the problem might be on the media itself, it has to be replaced. If it can be played on another DVD, a further diagnosis can be done on your computer.

We can check on the device manager and see if the driver/firmware for the optical drive is updated, if not an update can be done.

If prior to this problem, there were some changes made on the pc like a new software installed, you can do system restore prior to this changes.

Hello dear,

It seems that your DVD disc is damaged or has some scratches on its face. First, check for scratches. DVD or CD discs are plastic discs that are very sensitive in nature. Sometimes, rough handling can damage them and make them unreadable. You also have this problem. Clean your DVD for scratches. Use a buff machine for this problem. It will remove the scratches. Also check your drive, is it reading other disks properly? Clean its lens as well. I hope you understand. Thanks.
