Manually fixing a PC “no sound” problem?

Hi,

While I was trying to fix a "no sound" on PC issue via fix-it hub, a message with the code “Ox80040154” shows up.

The code seems to indicate that it cannot look for a remedy to the audio issue.

Can you please tell me whether it is possible to fix this manually?

select G31MX-K / then Driver tab

HD audio needs the Microsoft Universal Audio Architecture to be installed first for it to work
Right click My Computer > Properties > Hardware tab > Device Manager
System Devices / Microsoft Universal Audio Architecture should be installed
If not get here, from HP but supplied by Microsoft

install then Restart comp

then install Realtek audio driver

Set a System Restore Point before installing any drivers just in case
Start / All Programs / Accessories / System Tools / System Restore – click Radio button Create a restore point and follow instructions¾

Hi Eckel,

The no sound problem may be because of your sound /audio card. So you have to fix the problem with sound card drivers. Sometimes it will be difficult to figure out which driver causes the problem. So if you don’t have enough knowledge on drivers it will be difficult to diagnose. So by using www.driver- update- software.com site you can do this. You can download it from the site. It will automatically check which driver you need depending on your system specification. From that you can update your sound card drivers and fix the problem.

Thanks!
