Hi;

Your problem may varies upon your portal been used. Try another disk to check if your disk has problem or your computer drive has. Also try to slide a Sd card on the tiny switch on it then try to slide it again. Observe if it's working. One thing also is cause by having USb disk security software. Maybe you have this one and while installation process on this you might enter a password to stop the entrance of any unauthenticated USB device. If so, remove the password so that issue might be fixed. And try to use the disk. Last resort is cause by a malware. This might also the reason. Try to scan your system, be sure your anti-virus program is good and working well. Install one of it and don't forget to update it. I hope this could be a remedy on your problem. Just try the methods above patiently.

Hi Daniel,

Write disk protection is not a virus. It is a mechanism that prevents valuable data from being modified or deleted on a device. This mechanism is intended only in protecting data from accidental data loss or attacks from computer viruses. Similar technologies will be found on cassette tapes where the record button is lock by inserting objects to block or by simply breaking it to avoid future writes.

  • Example:   (Top to bottom) First three cassettes are not write protected. Last one is write protected.
  • Another example would be the CD's or DVD's particularly those that are coming from drivers where it contains essential files to make your hardware functional. These CD's are being lock by writing the whole partition just to consume the whole space available.
