Making changes in registry keys

Is it possible to change all name references on a computer? I want to do this on a computer given to me by a friend. I am reluctant in making any changes especially when I see information such as {9d3b2a13-25a5-4158-85ec-243ff22031fe}. I’m confused.

Hello Jessey,

For sure you can change some name references on the computer that your friend gave you, like the computer name and the account login name. You do not have to continue using your friend’s details when your computer is under your custody now. That way you will personalizing it just to show that you are indeed the owner of the computer now, it will not affect the normal functioning of the system.

But there are some things that you cannot think of or attempt to change at all, and these are the driver names on your computer. Do not go in the program files or any other folder that bears the installed programs and start changing for that may even lead to your system crashing down.
