MacBook Pro Fall 2011 vs MacBook Air Summer 2011

Oh tough call. The 13" MacBook summer 2011 is a great MacBook air for main stream application. It is definitely light and is updated with the latest Intel CPUs for better performance and battery life. Backlit keyboards make a welcome return.

The problem is that the MacBook Air 128 GB SSD Drive is a lot smaller than a standard drive and thus a turn off. The MacBook Air costs $1529. Comparing it with the 13" MacBook Pro (fall 2011) it will cost you $100 less, Incremental updates to the CPU help keep the MacBook Pro line a step above the mainstream MacBook Air. The trackpad and gesture controls are still the best of any current laptop.

But the problem is that we would like to see things such as such as HDMI, Blu-ray, and USB 3.0. I mean yeah it go an optical drive but still. If I had to make a decision, I would have chosen MacBook Air over MacBook Pro due to HDMI, Blu-ray, and USB 3.0. Plus MacBook Air is light and has a long lasting battery. If the choice would have been more open and not just between these two; I would have chosen Toshiba Portege R835-P88.
