MacBook Pro won’t turn on and charger flashing orange

Just this day, I plugged my phone on my MacBook Pro through a USB so I can charge it. But an error appears and I don't really remember what it says. All I remember is that, it says something about too much charge of the device. So I unplugged my phone and plugged it back again. After doing that, my laptop turns off and it never turn on. When I connect the charger on it, it flashes with orange light but it still won't turn on. What happened and how can I fix it?

Possible causes:

  1. Battery Fault – follow steps below to RESET the battery.  Never remove the battery yourself, you will void your warranty.
  2. Resetting the System Management Controller (SMC) – see steps below
  3. Magsafe Adapter Fault – Test to see if the charger works on another device, or take it in to be tested
  4. Faulty Logic Board – this usually happens due to voltage fluctuation or power surge  you will need to take your device in for repairs
  5. Faulty Magsafe DC-IN Chip – you will need to take your device in for repairs

  1. Resetting the battery
  • Unplug all the devices, including the power, from your device.
  • Unscrew the bottom case –

    • Remove the following ten screws securing the lower case to the upper case: Three 13.5 mm Phillips screws, Seven 3 mm Phillips screws.
  • Wedge your fingers between the lower case and the vent, and lift upward to release the clips holding the lower case to the upper case.
  • Remove the lower case.

  • Whenever working near the logic board, it is always wise to first disconnect the battery to avoid short circuits.
  • Grab the plastic tab attached to the battery connector and pull it toward the front edge of the device.
  • Pull the tab parallel to the face of the logic board
  • Wait 5 minutes and plug the battery back in and replace the bottom case

  1. Resetting the System Management Controller, follow steps below:
  • Shutdown the device
  • Plug in the charger to a power source and connect it to the device
  • On the keyboard, press Shift, Control, Option & Power buttons at the same time
  • Let go of all the buttons at the same time
  • Press the power button to turn on the device
