Lotus Notes Installation and Configuration

I am working with Lotus Notes and when I select to input and read Japanese or Chinese characters all I get its dots.  I tried and I checked other computers and I haven’t seen any difference, and I also tried changing the regional settings in Lotus Notes from File -> Preferences… I am aware that I might be missing something but I just can’t figure out what it is. Could someone please help me?

Lotus Notes Installation and Configuration

Hi Thomas H Linquist,
This problem is caused because the words you wrote are not Latin or Western languages. In some cases a user should install "East Asian language support files".
You can try to open "Regional and Language Options in Control panel".Click on language tab and  select Install files for East Asian languages. To do this you should click on the checkbox. Then you will be asked to insert WINDOWS installation CD or to connect your laptop to the internet.
