Is there anyway that I can downgrade to the previous firmware of FTP application lancom?

I do not have a backup of previous configuration and the new upgrade is not working too well.

I’m not sure if that’s possible with your FTP application and I think with any other application available. That’s because when you do an upgrade on a program, the new version sometimes automatically uninstall the old version and then installs the new version.

And sometimes there are applications like Mozilla Firefox and Opera browser that doesn’t uninstall the old version and just replaces and updates the installation to the latest version and then automatically activates the new version by closing and re-launching the browser.

With your application, I don’t think that’s possible unless you have the installer of the old version. You can still download the installer of the old version from the website where you usually download the FTP application.

I think they always keep the list of previous releases available.

I think you are referring the upgrade to a hardware. If this is the case, I don’t think there is a way you can downgrade the firmware of a device once you update it. This thing also happened to me on my 3G wireless broadband USB stick.

I was able to successfully update its firmware to the latest version but when I tried to downgrade it, it is no longer possible. One reason why you cannot downgrade a device’s firmware is that there is no available stock firmware for the device.

I mean, the original firmware of the device before you upgraded it is not available for download and the manufacturer doesn’t provide it on their website. Unlike with a device’s driver on your computer that can be downgraded by rolling its driver back to the previous version, when you upgrade a device’s firmware, it is there for good because the new firmware or software is written directly to the hardware.
