I am looking for tips to use wireshark to monitor network traffic. I have been looking for tools to monitor traffic on my personal network and recently I heard of wireshark. I need tips to use it. Can someone help me?

You can download wireshark from its official website for Mac and PC. For Ubuntu you can find it in its software centre. Install it and run. For capturing packets select the desired interface, in your case your wireless network and then packets coming in and out are shown in real time. Colour coding differentiates the packets. You can filter all the packets based on what you want to see like DNS or TCP packets.
