The Linux Distributions I have looked at support X Windows.

Does this mean that after everything has been configured I can say, start up my computer and won't be shown a Unix prompt, it'll boot up to the X Windows interface?

Hi,

This is not sure that you can use X Windows interface with the Linux Distributions support for X Windows. It depends with many conditions. If those conditions match with the X windows requirement then you can use it otherwise you have to change or upgrade your PC with according to those conditions.

You may need to update your BIOS system. So that it can boot X windows. Then maybe you need to manage your login system. Then you need to configure booting system so that you can have a dual boot system.

When you will fulfill those entire requirements then you can use X Windows.
