You can configure Exchange 2010 using the Exchange Management Console (EMC). Here’s how to configure Exchange 2010.

Open the EMC and expand the option “Organizational Configuration.” Select the Edge Transport role server (if and only if you take up this role). Go to Edge Transport and click on the Accepted Domains tab. Or else, you can select Hub Transport, click the Accepted Domain tab. Now you can either go to the Work pane or the Action pane and select New Accepted Domain.

When the New Accepted Domain wizard appears, type in the name of your new accepted domain in the Name input section and the accepted domain name in the Domain name section. Also, choose one of the domain types below the input section to suit your needs.

Click on New. The wizard will now start the configuration. Select Finish to finish the process.

You can also configure Exchange 2010 from the Powershell via commands, but since you are from a non-technical field, the Powershell method might seem less comfortable than the above method.

Hope it helped!
