Hi. The steps to replace HP Deskjet 6940 ink cartridge require you to first open the printer, the steps of which include, turning on the printer by hitting the power button and then opening the printer case and wait until and unless the cradle of the printer moves to the right side of the printer. Then, all the old cartridges need to be removed after the latch of the cartridge is pressed down lightly. The latch can be unhooked by pulling out the bottom of the cartridge. Then, it will slide out. The cartridge after it is removed can be put in a cartridge protector.

Also, ensure that the cartridges are attuned and you can also purchase the replacement cartridges by visiting the HP SureSuppy. Then, install the new cartridge by removing the protective tape. Then, close the printer by pushing the print cartridge down and then close the printer cover. Hope we helped.
