Hi there,

I have a Acer Apsire P3 which I was upgrading from Windows 8 to Windows 8.1, the process was taking long so I forcefully terminated the process by switching off the computer, I have tried to restart the computer only to get it stuck on the boot logo, I have tried reinstalling Windows 8 but the fresh install won't start, what is the problem here? does windows 8.1 affect BIOS? How can I get my computer back working?

Dear Bob,

You have stopped the upgrade process in the mid so it is quiet possible that the files are in some sort of invalid state.

Now when you try to reinstall Windows 8, the system is not allowing you to downgrade to an older version.

You need not to worry about BIOS., that is fine.

Just try to reinstall Windows 8.1. If it doesn't work, try your recovery disks for the older state. Else, you will need to format your C drive.
