My friend bought a laptop but confused how to type because the keys U, I, O, J, K, L, M does not work even though the function Fn + F11 (Num Lock) is disabled. Button only works if pressed together with Fn. Maybe there are other friends who know how to keyboard can type without having to press the Fn key again.
Keyboard Aspire One D257 does not work
Hello ma'am,
First and foremost, I will recommend you to try plugging in a USB keyboard into your laptop. This to check if the problem is with your keyboard or if it’s due to a system problem. If the USB keyboard is working and all keys are functioning then this means your keyboard is defective. Thus, it would be wise of you to try fixing your keyboard first.
To do this, remove the keyboard bezel and unscrew it from the laptop base. Then, disconnect the keyboard cable from the motherboard and remove it. However, if you still have unchanged problem after replacing the keyboard, there could be an error with the keyboard controller on the motherboard. This implies that there is a need to replace the whole motherboard. Note: a laptop keyboard is not repairable. If it clogged, you have to change the whole unit.
