Keyboard and touchpad not working

Hi there,

I have a Dell XPS laptop and I travel a lot, yesterday I booted my laptop and then the keyboard and touchpad stopped responding, I rebooted the laptop and during BIOS the keyboard works fine, when the computer boots to Windows 8.1, the keyboard no longer works, what could be the problem with my keyboard and touch pad? How can I solve this problem?

Hello,

Your question is a little unclear as you have mentioned you "booted" your laptop and the problems described arose.

If it is being caused by damaged drivers,  then try uninstalling and re-installing the drivers of your touchpad and keyboard. You will get this from your laptop manufacturer's website.

If it still does not work try to "Refresh" the settings of your laptop. Windows 8.1 provides the option to completely refresh your PC.

As a last resort, get your keyboard and touchpad checked for physical damage to the parts.
