I guess it is possible, but if you find that it refuses to access the internet as a result of that, and then the firewall you have installed may be the one responsible for separating the network fro the internet, it could be the proxy server you have set as well.

In that case you will need to configure the firewall, or if it is the proxy causing the problem so that it allows the connection to go through. You may need to inquire from the administrator of that network the kind of proxy that is used on the network, and other details like the name of the server and the port address being used. Then you will then in the proxy dialog in the format below:

proxy.yourcompany.com:port_number .
